Promoting the lifestyle? Like having recruitment posters up? And giving bonuses for boys who sign up for an enlistment to be gay? I'm not sure I know what you mean by promoting. Now TV promotes HETEROSEXUAL SEX nonstop (and so do the movies) with RARELY a word about disease or responsibility. That's what I call promotion and it's a multibillion dollar industry. Almost all the promotion I see is for heterosexual activity- and an aberrant lifestyle- in that the HETEROSEXUAL activity seems to be starting very young in the movies and be based on nothing more than looks, shallow attractions. Yuck. Now that's the kind of promotion I could get behind criticizing. As much as I used to criticize gay bathouses- I don't accept that kind of shallow and dangerous lifestyle either. Not because of who is having sex- but because of the way they are doing it.

I don't think any sex needs "promoting". We are hard wired for sex, and most of us want it. The problem is that the small minority that is hard wired for homosexual sex is totally excluded from most of the cultural benefits the rest of us enjoy- such as comfortable role models we can identify with as we grow into our mature sexuality. To top it off the homosexual adolescent faces people in the world who have the attitude that they are deviant, and disgusting. Not only are there no mass media positive role models for long term stable gay relationships (or none that I can think of- the gays in the media are usually comical stereotypes).

So if you accept gays- HOW exactly do you accept them? Only celibate ones? Or if they are sexually active you say- well sure I accept you, but not that nasty unhealthy lifestyle you lead. hmmmm. I am not sure that is accepting.
