er - non sequitor!! non sequitor!! alert!! alert!! we were talking about Sun PR changing history to make their current vision, which I agree is a good one, be what they were saying all along, when it is 180 degrees opposite to what they were saying 10 years ago. I don't think what HP, IBM, CPQ et.al. are doing with MSFT has any connection to that discussion. Not that what Sun is doing is wrong - but it's kind of like CPQ claiming they have been leaders in clustering for 25 years when they haven't even been in business that long. DEC was... but it seems like a tenuous cultural claim.
