SpongeBrain, this thread served the purpose of discussing the crime itself, as opposed to the way the media has handled it: as a features story. It's obvious to me that the New Haven Police botched the investigation from day one, but I still think the killer can be found. As you can see, the big problem is just about everyone who was assigned to the Jovin case has either been suspended for possible criminal behavior or moved on to other jobs.

A friend recently got ahold of a new person assigned to the case and we will in the next few weeks be putting up reward posters in various towns here in Connecticut. Recall that the first set of posters just went up around the vicinity of Yale. If the killer is someone from the community, and if I'm correct in assuming there were others present in the car, I would think there's a decent chance a reward might elicit some good leads for the police. My first choice would be for the police to launch their own community investigation, but given all their high-profile deliberate leaks to the press about one person, they probably believe any hint of weakness in their case would be a publicity nightmare and perhaps the last straw for Chief Wearing. So, I just do whatever I can and hope for the best.

If you can think of anything else I can do, please let me know. :)
