Hi The Prophet; More DDR news... Rather small companies are now producing DDR. This is in stark contrast to the situation with RDRAM, where only a few large companies have been able to put the chips out, and then only with bad yields.

Elite Semiconductor Memory Technology Inc, not one of the big guys, is now offering DDR SDRAM for sale:

The above mentioned 200MHz rated parts were included on a prototype 200MHz (i.e. 400MHz data rate) Nvidia card that Tom's was able to get up to 472MHz data rates:

There is apparently some disagreement with Nvidia over (I suppose) whether their chips can take the high speed memory clock. But my point is that the 400MHz memory chips are getting sampled even by tiny players.
