DS: As a function of age and faulty memory, I forgot AMCC and a somewhat different company CREE. So to review, my basket is AMCC, BRCM, PMCS, TXN (concentrating on "communications"), with ARMHY (the core for just about everything) and CREE (unique in itself) as "associated" members. OTOTOT Re JDSU/SDLI, I have just been stimulated by the contributions that you, Don and now sditto are making to suggest "know how". Also Proprietory to me may or may depend on patents. Just enjoying the back and forth. As far as I am concerned, Qualcomm is a Buffett style stock - hold forever - which sadly in my case is a somewhat limited time span - but JDSU/SDLI is a close second for me - king or not, i.e "lightly" is meaningless as a practical matter.
