Jimmy Herring Performs with Phil & Friends Allman Brothers guitarist Jimmy Herring played with Phil Lesh & Friends last night at Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, MI. Herring, who toured with Phil & Friends in the Spring, filled in for Robben Ford (who was traveling to California for a festival performance tonight). The rest of the lineup included Paul Barrere, Bill Payne and John Molo. For the encore, the band covered Phish's "Sample in a Jar", which Barrere and Payne recently recorded for Little Feat's latest album, Chinese Work Songs. Herring will resume touring with the Allman Brothers Band Friday at Star Lake Amphitheater in Pittsburgh, PA.
