Now you're getting cute, I think. I'm not sure if you're joking or not. But-- Well, of course, it was tradeable, in principle. But as a matter of fact, before Seagate's takeunder plans (which have been brewing, incidentally for a couple of years, with the first salvo, I believe, being the firing of Al Shugart, who the people behind this whole thing knew would never go for this kind of wholesale theft--IMO only), the block was not for sale. Shugart would have eventually sold it, but in a more discreet way than it has been managed in these circumstances (or else, he/Seagate may have taken over Sandisk altogether).
For all realistic intents and purposes, the float has been increased by Seagate's block. |
