sditto: My apologies for not knowing about the Fisher family. And for my goof in mixing up Philip the guru with Ken (an unknown to me).

For better or worse, I am not very impressed with gurus.

Perhaps it has to do with my own inclinations and experience and perhaps it has something to do with my early interest in the Motley Fool and the fun they had with the "wise".

In my experience, the closer you get to "the street" and the convential wisdom, the worse off you are.

But that is a bit of eclecticism.

So again, I assume that I should have know who Philip Fisher was, and his ideas seem relatively sensible, but my investment in Texas Instruments was part of an approach which I used early on to try to pick out the building blocks - the widgets - for the computer tornado. This lead me to TXN and INTC among others. Not sorry.

Then I went to software. That was MSFT and those MSFT destroyed.

But that is long ago.

Best.
