JC, Reagan's big gift to us was that he SIMPLIFIED the tax code, which meant that the truly wealthy (not us) had fewer resources available for using lawyers to get away with paying nothing!

When Reagan was president I was too liberal to like or respect him. In retrospect, I don't know exactly how aware he really was (he did develop Alzenheimer's), but he's the only president in the past 40 years who enacted anything that reduced the tax burden on those few of us who are willing to work 60-90 hours a week either because we love our families (like me!) or because we lust for wealth (well, maybe that's me too, just don't tell anyone).

Reagan helped us like no one helped us in a very very long time.
