well, before we get too carried away here, i just eyeballed a simple overlay of the PoG and the XAU from '91 to today, and it seems to me that apart from the occasional leads and lags, and the XAU's higher volatility, they definitely trend together.

the correlation is the least when there is no trend in the PoG...however, as soon as a definitive up- or downtrend manifests itself, both the PoG and the XAU definitely go in the same direction.

not exactly a surprise i might add.
