Mario-

Here's a half-baked theory for you. What do you think about Atmel being down because they're not in flash enough. Here the market can't get enough and Atmel's divesting their interests in it.

Personally, I applaud their efforts to get into higher margin areas such as the SiGe, SOCs, ASICs etc. The more I think about it, however, they have rotten timing with respect to the flash market. Everything has an opportunity cost though. I'm not as familiar with their other memory products or their cost/margin structures but it seems to me that Atmel could have gotten out of something a little more "commodity".

Anyway, for what it's worth I'm very eager to see what they're up to with SiGe and their progress with their RF products. And we all know that their remaining flash business is likely doing great as well.
