Westell's WireSpeed modems and ADSL Routers work without interruption of regular voice service on an existing office or home phone line. The DSL technology provides reliable, high-speed, Internet connection at downstream data rates of up to 8 Mbps and upstream data rates of up to 800 Kbps. WireSpeed modems are "plug and play" and help to lower total system costs by virtue of their plug and play configurations, software download capability and the fact that there is no need to "crack a computer case" to get service up and running. SBC will use Westell's WireSpeed modems.
"We are very excited to play a role in SBC's DSL deployment plans," remarked Michael Santiago, Vice President and General Manager of Westell's CPE Business Unit. "SBC's broadband offering provides great value to customers and puts many people within reach of high-speed broadband services."
