This was actually incorrect and has now been corrected on the CBS Marketwatch site.
EMI content will be available in the Liquid Format using the Liquid Player and/or Real Players, and will be available sometime today.
We are not developing our own portable player, but rather we partner with many leading CE companies (Sony, Sanyo, Toshiba, etc.) to provide software, etc. for their portable devices.

Recently, CBS.MarketWatch.com stated that EMI would allow its music to be downloaded in the Liquid Audio format once Liquid had developed a PORTABLE music player.
Does Liquid Audio plan to market a portable music player in the near future?
