Re: genetic vs. environment influences. I think that's one of the great questions, are we formed by our genes or the environment. I just came back from a management training seminar, and off on the side we spent a great deal of time discussing it. One of guys there made a persuasive argument about being influenced by genes. He polled everyone in our group that had young children, and they all said "genes". Another said that it's environment but that the formative years are somewhere between 2 and 3 years. Formative meaning those years when personality is developed.
