Lars and All:

Did you happen to hear the caller who asked Bob about his background this weekend? I think Bob's answer is interesting:

Bob's bachelor's degree was in economics. Evidently, after college (in the 1960s) he became a very active stock trader - just with his own money. The stock market and finances interested him so much that he decided to go back to school to get his MBA.

After getting his MBA, Bob went to work in a Philadelphia bank in the Bond portfolio management department. He then went to work at another bank in the trust department - equity management division.

Bob went on to work at the Bank of New York on Wall Street, where he worked in the investment counciling department for eight years. He left the Bank of NY (as a vice president) in the early 1980s.

After the Bank of NY, Bob became the chief investment officer for an international insurance company's US stock portfolio, where he managed approximately $0.5 billion. After 11 years at the insurance co., he "went into business for himself."

Quite a story.

Best wishes,

I2
