IMO, this quarter was not a good one for MSFT. The street will not come out and say it because they ALL have to much money invested in the company. Get real, they already reduced revenues (i.e., from 6.1-6.2 to 5.7-5.8 billion) and MSFT had a difficut time meeting lower forecasts.

I invest in company because of what they make or service. Investment income is neither. What would happen if the market has a prolonged downturn, investment income would dry up and what do have left, operating income.

I really do think that this might be the slow decline I mentioned in a previous post. If Win2000 revenues do not pick up the company is going to face a very looooong transition period and with that comes depressed stock prices. It happend ORCL, IBM, HWP etc.

Bottom line, this was not a good earnings report and I expect the stock to take a slight dip in the weeks to come. Of course, the spin doctors will do everything they can to make it seem sunny where the sun don't shine.

JMO, Bob.
