Of course, there's no guarantee that ANY 64 bit OS(s) will work with Sledgehammers Extended-32 bit architecture, is there...?

While that is true, the task of creating such an OS will be simplified by the fact that the source code will be there and a 64 bit extension of existing 32bit compilers will be something a few interns can do, compared to the Merced compiler, that probably matches complexity of Apollo landing on the Moon.
