"The hate crime laws are mainly political, IMO, to reassure the affected group that society doesn't approve." Karen, Karen, Karen....first it was problems with Math and now it's Political Science. Politicians did not pass the laws simply to let these people know that they care about them. They passed the law because they saw a SOLID BLOCK of VOTES.
