You're confusing an OS with a GUI. Put the MSFT interface on a stable operating system and you might have something. (Or you could buy a Macintosh.) Excel is a great product. Port it to Linux. MSFT has had a great run. It will continue to make money. It just looks like its days as a growth stock are behind it. Valuations have to come down. I repeat. Operating systems are free. Browsers are free. Office suites are free. The requirements for internet software will only get more demanding. HotMail doesn't run Windows. That speaks volumes.
