United Internet Technologies Creates Interactive Platform Capable of Controlling External Devices From Multiple Locations July 19, 2000 08:06 AM Eastern Time LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2000--
Proprietary "Intelligent Control Interactive Technology" (I-C-IT) Platform Allows Interaction with Wide Range of Devices
United Internet Technologies, Inc. (UIT), a subsidiary of United Leisure Corporation UTDL.OB , is introducing its Intelligent Control Interactive Technology(TM) (I-C-IT(TM)) platform, which will provide users with the ability to control electronic devices through various digital delivery systems, such as the Internet, cable, fiber-optic, television and wireless communication.
The announcement was made today by Brian Shuster, president and chairman of United Internet Technologies, who added that the proprietary platform has been developed as an expandable system and is designed to work with a wide range of electronic devices.
"We are excited about the unique capabilities that I-C-IT technology will bring to various industries," said Shuster. "With the I-C-IT platform, we are positioning ourselves in the smart device arena as a developer of new forms of distributed computer intelligence specifically designed to create network-enabled devices."
The unique hardware and software architecture of the I-C-IT platform enables off-the-shelf electronic devices to be network-enabled and controlled through the Internet from either a local or remote location, according to Thea Iberall, Ph.D., chief scientist of UIT.
"The I-C-IT platform has the potential to enhance existing devices, and create a new class of devices that can enhance the interactive experience of users throughout the world," said Iberall.
Appliances, medical devices and other electronic equipment enabled with I-C-IT technology become receivers of broadcast distributed computer intelligence, enabling them to be controlled, transmit data and receive commands over various digital systems.
UIT has successfully developed and enabled prototype smart devices that utilize the I-C-IT platform. The intention is to expand the I-C-IT platform by developing new applications for different industry sectors serving specific business needs. UIT has established an experienced management and technology team and an operations infrastructure to support its business, engineering and research and development efforts. The company is also actively pursuing strategic alliances to exploit its I-C-IT platform.
UIT develops technologies that control devices online, creating multi-dimensional interactive experiences. The company's objective is to maximize value by creating and investing in businesses that use and benefit from its technologies. UIT has introduced its first proprietary technology to the market, called DIVO(TM), a server controlled video technology, that is suitable for the entertainment, travel, shopping, corporate and educational markets.
