MONTREAL, QUEBEC-- JULY 19, 2000
Company Enters Show as World's Leader in Business and Regional Aircraft
Bombardier Aerospace, the number one manufacturer of business and regional aircraft worldwide, will display its newest and best-selling aircraft at the Farnborough International Air Show later this month. The roster includes its new 70-seat Canadair Regional Jet and 70-seat Q-400 Dash 8 turboprop airliners, Global Express and Challenger corporate jets as well as several members of the Learjet family of business jets. For the first time, Bombardier will enter the show as the leader of the two fastest growing niches in the aerospace business and as the winner of Aviation Week and Space Technology's "Best Managed Large Aerospace Company."
At Farnborough, Bombardier will conduct the CRJ700's inaugural demonstration flight. It will also offer journalists demonstration flights on the Global Express and the Q400 Dash 8 turboprop.
"Over the last decade, Bombardier has invested heavily in new products and, as a result, has developed more aircraft than any other airframe maker," said Michael Graff, president and chief operating officer of Bombardier Aerospace. "At Farnborough we will showcase the fruits of our investments with a 70-seat regional jet that is two years ahead of its competition, a next-generation turboprop with unparalleled passenger comfort and an ultra-long range business jet that flies faster and farther than any other corporate jet in history."
In the past year, Bombardier has sold more aircraft than ever in its history with revenues of $8.1 billion (Cdn.), a 26 per cent increase from the previous year. Bombardier has received several accolades for its performance, including being ranked number one on the Forbes Global "A List" in Aerospace & Defense, third on Fortune's list of "Most Admired Global Companies" in the Aerospace category.

About the Bombardier Aircraft on Display
(see www.aeroshow.com for a photo gallery)
The CRJ700, the 70-seat derivative of the popular 50-seat CRJ100 and CRJ200 aircraft, enables customers to enjoy one family of aircraft for a more flexible fleet, superior resource allocation and point to point service. The CRJ700 is an emblem of Bombardier's leadership position in the regional aircraft market, entering into revenue service two years ahead of competitors.
The Q400 Dash 8 turboprop, the 70-seat version of the Q100, Q200 and Q300 Series, made its first delivery this year. This aircraft's break-even point for customers is 40 percent occupancy, giving its customers a high-profit potential. The increased speed and range of this next-generation turboprop extends an airline's reach to new markets beyond traditional turboprop missions. Additionally, the Q-Series showcases Bombardier's proprietary advanced Noise and Vibration System (NVS) that promises passengers a quiet and comfortable flight experience.
The ultra long-range Global Express flies faster and farther than any other corporate jet in history. The 18-seat aircraft can fly up to an altitude of 51,000 feet and fly at speeds of up to mach .89. The Global Express has also been chosen for the UK Airborne Stand-Off Radar (ASTOR) program for its superior design, reliability and performance. Additionally, it is the only aircraft in its class to have European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) certification. As of July 12, 2000, the Global Express in-service fleet totalled 11 aircraft.
The Challenger business jet, which recently made a milestone 500th delivery, continues to be Bombardier's best-selling business aircraft capturing more than one third of the market for large business aircraft. The Challenger 604 can perform at 4,000 nautical miles, giving the customer the intercontinental range needed to perform globally.
Renowned for its speed and high performance, the Learjet family of aircraft has been part of Bombardier's operation for ten years. The three aircraft developed under Bombardier's management, the Learjet 60, 45 and 31A, will be on display at the show.
