BG, sorry if my note made you mad. You invited me here to discuss things about LLY and Xoma. I don't own this stock any longer and all I can give you is thoughts or semi-informed opinion.

Just some notes: I don't think you know how Genta works. It's dirt cheap though. I don't think you understand sepsis either. In addition, all drug patents are prophetic, without a single exception. Patents need to be reduced to practice. Less than 2% of patents is ever realized (from speculation) and produce gains.

IMO, Xoma apparently f....d up another (their second) biotech protein and this is clearly the result of the total incompetence of their medical team. I don't know how many major failures they can take and for how long they can hang in there. I think they should get rid of the entire MD brigade and get in the best scientists (the field of expertise is irrelevant) who can THINK hard. Remember, most very experienced pharmaceutical physicians are not the best crop of MDs (to say the least) and are often fairly narrow minded process people (direct consequence of long "experience" in a single activity) unable to do good and ORIGINAL medical science (sorry colleagues). If XOMA (and most biotech) hired "minds" and "originality" instead of "experience" in their medical team, they could already have a drug on the market. This crew clearly cannot perform, even with a probably safe and efficacious compound.
