| First, the heritage of the West includes Plato and Aristotle and Marcus Aurelius. It even includes Voltaire and Paine. Second, the ability to dispose of one's wealth is a part of the free market, and confiscatory taxation is socialistic. If there were a real problem with the concentration of wealth, it might be worth it, but we are in a dynamic economy, and wealth is diffuse. Finally, evolution, as a scientific theory, does not lead anywhere, it is merely adaptive change. Since human beings are able to adapt their environments to themselves, for all you know we are through, and even were we not, that would not necessarily be a good thing......... |
