The risk in owning SDLI has just increased tremendously with the S&P announcement. I'm surprised the discount hasn't gotten back to 18-20%.

This artificial boost in JDSU stock price, I'm certainly not complaining, will ONLY help JDSU and is of no help at all to SDLI in the event the merger were ever to fall apart.

If the discount remains at about 12% where it is now, I will certainly trade out of my SDLI I picked up last week and roll into JDSU which is hands down a better/safer play at this price.

The higher JDSU goes, the more risk in holding SDLI. Once SDLI announces earnings tomorrow, I would expect to see the discount begin to rise over the next week.

JDSU is destined to go higher, SDLI will too...as long as it remains hitched to JDSU.
