miamiherald.com Wednesday, July 19, 2000 Cuban baseball player finally makes it to U.S. Andres 'Andy' Morales A Cuban baseball player who failed in his last attempt to reach the United States when the boat on which he was traveling was intercepted at sea, has finally made it to Florida. The Immigration and Naturalization Service confirmed this morning that Andres ''Andy'' Morales was among a group of Cubans who landed in Florida yesterday. According to U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Joe Mellia, Morales landed with a group of nine Cubans on the Marquesas islands near Key West on Tuesday afternoon. The group was made up of eight men and a juvenile female, Mellia said.
