ptanner, Yes, I looked at the Toms site and they have Durons at 950 Mhz doing 87% of what a 1 gig P-III does and 93% of a 950 Mhz P-III. So it does 87% of a 1 gig performance for around 175 of the cost. Looks like a clear economic win, in any case.
That should make it the king of the gamers world for the next 6 months as they will all use the Tom's method to clock the Duron to 950 or so in a low cost mobo.
It was deliberately made to skunk the celeron(skunk=defeat utterly) and is quite good against the P-III as well, just not as good by about 7% speed on speed.
