Understood, Gaugie. What I had in mind were things precisely like the Volvo post and some other, equally well-written, nondenominational, so to speak, posts. Funny posts, intriguing posts, consciousness-raising posts, posts which demonstrate the interesting take on life so many of us SIers have--especially in the old days, circa 1996-1998. DAR, Quintex, GOOFs, and Feelies, offer a cornucopia of such posts, as do several other threads here at SI which have long been buried.
Me? I could not possibly choose the best post on SI. There are just too many worthy candidates. In fact, I doubt that I could choose the best 1000 posts on SI.
