Some Notes from the CC

Overall a great QTR, I always feel elated after listening to the CCs, management instills confidence in their ability to expand the business and be an aggressive competitor. Cheers to management and the employees at AHAA!

The replay #: (719) 457-0820 ID# 443028

1st QTR 2001

CEO David Aldrich

16% Seq. revenue growth
21% Seq. net income growth(backing out one-time NDI effects)

Improved manufacturing adding to margins

Working to diversify handset base, and achieving that
Revenue growth at major customers:MOT ERICY LU SNE SFA Sagem
Broadband designs/revenues increasing, CEO said "this is just the begining."

NDI already positively contributing to results

Ceramics hot, margins expanding

CFO:

For FY 2001 revenue projects are increasing to 57%-59%, up from a projection of 50% last QTR. (Maybe the new figures will prove conservative by next QTR as well)

Expects 75% growth in net income for FY 2001!

$10 mil CAPEX in QTR, $40 mil for FY 2001

Gross margins expected to continue to increase during FY2001

CEO:

Gaining market share/design wins everywhere

AHAA and customer's roadmaps are tightly aligned
Cable and Fiber up
Advanced switch market share going up
MOT "Internet ready" phone has multiple AHAA chips

Siemens has now switched from SI to GaAS, using AHAA chips.
CEO said GaAs advance is based on Physics, and will beat out SI in these types of applications. GaAS: better switching and less "drop". My read: (Fundamentally, if advancement is to continue in wireless it is done on the GaAs platform)

CEO said AHAA is doing "crazy things" in switches that is in front of their competitors. (This leads me to believe, with being 2X larger than the nearest competitor, AHAA is the technology leader in GaAs switches)

AHAA has started their 6-inch conversion and it will take roughly a year. Foresees good things with the conversion.

AHAA has field engineers with NOK, they are sampling product, no wins yet, but AHAA sure is trying!
