Joe, How about a sanity check ?? What does CAML have that anyone might want ??
NOTHING !! History:
They have NEVER turned a profit in their entire existance. Although they have claimed a profit in certain quarters, it was always due to "one time sales of distribution rights for Digiphone". In every case the real numbers have shown that there really was either NO income from the falsley declared values for sales of rights or, at best, a small fraction of what was announced was really recieved. All of the recent sales of rigts that amounted to about $8.5 million have either been written down or surrendered, It is interesting to note that these deals have all been between Camelot, Controlled by Danny Weittreich and other companies OWNED AND controlled by him!! This makes these deals, and the reported values, suspect... to say the least!
Much of the "cash and cash equivalents" claimed are based on securities of dubious value. In fact they have written much of it down by large percentages over the last two quarters (over 80%)!
Total sales from the last two reported quarters amounted to only about $616K versus losses of about $6 MILLION.
They have not delivered a NEW product for well over a year. They have never delivered a promised product on time!
Their ISP service is losing money, the MR CDROM stores went belly up. Their Europen distributor (Meteor) has lost 87% of its stock value since associating itself (DW bought it) with Camelot.
In short there is little reason for anyone to want to buy this company! There are presently about 35 companies that offer Internet telephony applications. Everyone has products that far excede the capabilities of Digiphone. Tere are software packages available that make the develpment of saleable Iphone apps using current technology much cheaper than it would be to buy Camelot's antiquated junk! Microsoft has their own NetPhone app (NetMeeting). It is standards compliant, has video, enhanced conferencing capabilities multiple party conferencing, and a decent addressing service. Camelot's product has nowhere close to this kind of abilities. Camelot carries the overhead of overpaid officers, that have shown a lack of ability to produce anything that is succesful. Now why would M$ want Camelot. They only buy companies with technology that M$ is having problems producing! Indeed why would anyone want to buy an company that has been a consistant failure, and having no cutting edge technology to offer??
It sounds like your analysis of this buyout junk as being a JOKE is highly accurate! Unusual would be an appropriate description of the mentality that would feel CAML was worth $2.
HUbert, rather than branding people as "spies" just check the record! These guys are major failures who compound their problems by lying to the public and their stockholders on a regular basis. It is no wonder that the stock has gone from Eight Dollars to twelve CENTS in a short period.
Discalimer: I have no association with any of Camelot' competitiors, I hold no CAML stock. I am simply an objective observer! |
