Dlph.....LU has never treated me wrong. Like any other stock, it depends on what you paid for it, how long you held it, and at what point you sold it.

In that respect, I don't see where it's any different than MSFT, INTC and hundreds of others. The long-term hold philosophy doesn't work all that well in all cases....in fact the ones that look so great (CSCO, QCOM, JDSU) get pretty scary to hold as they go up and up and up.

When LU gets cheap enough, it will be bought in spades by many institutions, Many stock-biz professionals like that stock...just as they tend to buy MOT at the right time and sell when it meets their target price.
