Head of Nanovation departs

Effective July 14, G. Robert Tatum has taken an indefinite leave of absence from his position as president and CEO of Nanovation Technologies (Miami, FL). Vice president of public relations Melanie Ofenloch said, “He’s done a wonderful job of taking the company to where it is today, to the point where it has products. It was mutually agreed that to take the company to the next level, we need to conduct a search for a new president and CEO.”

The board of directors has begun the process of recruiting his replacement. In the meanwhile, a committee led by senior vice president of business development and marketing, Robert Chaney, will be responsible for management decisions and strategic direction.

Ofenloch said the company will be looking for a leader with industry experience, Wall Street respect, and the ability to continue the company’s growth. Last week Nanovation acquired a manufacturing facility in Michigan (see
fiberopticsonline.com{70104CF9-57E8-11D4-8C55-009027DE0829}&Bucket=Latest+Headlines) to eventually produce its line of integrated optical components and MEMS devices.
