This article states that all 3 Korean service providers are planning on launching IS-95C (1xrtt) in October of this year.... etnews.co.kr\|03 Communication equipment vendors vie for orders in IS95C market ¡¡Expecting the introduction of IS95C service by mobile communication providers to create a huge market for equipment and appliances, domestic and multinational communication equipment suppliers are competing for equipment orders. ¡¡ ¡¡Industry watchers predict demand for IS95C systems will reach more than 1 billion dollars before September, and that demand for appliances will reach 700 million dollars to 1.5 billion dollars. ¡¡ ¡¡Mobile communication service players, including SK Telecom, Korea Telecom Freetel and LG Telecom, are planning to launch IS95C service in October this year. ¡¡ ¡¡Equipment vendors Samsung Electronics and Lucent Technologies have already received orders for equipment from SK Telecom, and LG Information & Communications is expected to supply its IS95C equipment to LG Telecom. ¡¡ ¡¡These three communication equipment firms are joined by Hyundai Electronics and Nortel Networks in the competition for orders from KT Freetel, which is expected to open the largest bid.
