try this...

my computer\properties\device manager\expand cd-rom\double-click your specific device listed there to open it\settings\...

in the 'reserved drive letters' section, choose the letter you want to assign to the new drive and enter that letter in the 'start drive letter' box. the same letter should appear automatically in the 'end drive letter' box. click ok, then click the next ok to save your changes and exit the device manager. restart your computer and check the drives to make sure that the new drive letter took effect.

do the same thing for your removable disk drive.
