and here is SoundView (needs some comments) while SounView states that 1.21 is below their EE they increase the targets and that means that they recognize the fact that their estimate was on pre-tax basis 10:38am EDT 20-Jul-00 Wit SoundView (Scott Randall 203-462-7246) AMD ............................ AMD's reported results came in $0.01 cent below our estimates (and well above $1.14 consensus estimates) on slightly lower revenues, higher GM's and a 20% tax rate (vs a guided 0% tax rate). Untaxed EPS would have been $1.51. AMD's results were aided by improving ASP's on FLASH as well as increasing efficiencies in the Company's microprocessor business. Going forward, we have increased our estimates based on higher GM assumptions offset by a tax assumption of 20% vs 0%. Our 01 estimate revisions include higher unit and GM assumptions and take into account the sale of AMD's CPD division. .....................
