I didn't say it'd be good for shareholders. That is why QCOM didn't get a good pop from their S&P listing last year: they chose to take it in cash instead of the stock price. In hindsight, cash might have been the wise trade for them, since they haven't been too masterful at raising their stock price of late (although those shares went to the funds at around 156 presplit, or $39 by today's prices).
