Mq,

Do you know of a site which demonstrates pro's and con's of WCDMA versus CDMA2000?

Also, what is your take on the reason carriers appear to be aligning with the WCDMA camp? The obvious reason, of course, is that most carriers want to agree upon one standard for international roaming. But is that the only real major factor?

...it's not gonna be any easier implementing WCDMA over a GSM network

...the infrastructure is not gonna be cheaper

...royalties aren't going to be cheaper

...it's not gonna be better, nor faster

Why do these carriers seem to be aligning with the companies supplying the Yugo at the Mercedes price when it's obvious that CDMA2000 gives a carrier a Mercedes at the Yugo price. Isn't this a NO-brainer? I'm obviously somehow deluded, please enlighten me.

Why can't LU sell the hell out of CDMA2000? I would think LU and other CDMA2000 providers would be picking up contracts left and right, carving Europe at will, and making WCDMA die stillborn. What do you think is stopping LU from breaching the castle walls in EU?

Looking forward to hearing your take, my friend.
