Chris, I personally got interested in AUDC when I bought 1,000 shares at approx. 15$ ea aro April 99, when they went public. Have been long since then... (Actually I knew a lot about their early success stories at that time already) Well, the market seems not to reward them now for their pristine quarterly results though. Malleable as far as I know only has access to the Lucent part of the voice coder patents, merely the G.729 as far as I know. Hardly the important G.723.1 though. Most of the AUDC carrier quality gateways, however, are sold with the AUDC proprietary voice coder, which is a lot better.
