This is a short term fight anyway, isn't it? There will be a 56K standard in a year or so, then, there will no longer be x2 versus K56. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course, that is next year, not now. For now, it is clear that x2 is the winner. I wonder if it will be worthwhile to do K56 if it takes so long to get into the market and catch up to x2, that the new standard will be "close". Perhaps what is being done is to keep x2 from capturing SO MUCH market share that even the standard modems won't be able to catch up?

Ain't it fun though.
