KG4, This quarter especially,
Any company who doesn't blow away earnings expectations has been getting clobbered for the most part.

The reward is high for those who blow out. For, investors are seeing these sectors or companies to be entering tornados or gorilladom.

If they report less than incredible earnings, then investors drop them in an instant.

In a nut shell, Investors are saying, "Put up or shut up!"

Now as far as your claim:
In fact, some pretty "in the know folks" on this thread said it was a given that elon would blow em' out.

It's time you place the blame on yourself, rather than those who write about their thoughts.
There are no guarantees.
If you invest in companies because of things you read here, then you must make the decision to accept the consequences.
That stock becomes yours.

We all make bad investment decisions.
We are all personally responsible for our decisions.
No blame should ever go to anyone else.
There are no guarantees.

Your friend,

Clappy
