I know you aren't a golfer but you would find this interesting I would think.

As I recall, Pinehurst's Number Two course has 4 short holes called Par 3's....because you are expected to hole out in roughly three shots.

What Ross did, madman that he was, was point them in four different directions. One East one South and so on. So the golfer never knows how to handle the wind. One hole it's in his or her face, next it's behind, next it's across......

The course is just a trip though hell....believe it or not a lot of golfers like such a journey.
