If one guy buys it for his index fund while the other waits, there could be quite a difference in fund performance. There are so many changes to the index that it almost becomes a managed fund since the "manager" has to devise ways of buying into each new addition and selling the ousted one. I'd expect some of their performances to start showing significant differences.

Do you think it would amount to a hill of beans, Victor?
