I never considered a ban on grinnie things or emoticons on this thread. The only thing disallowed in the original header post was rudeness. The grinnie ban kind of happened on its own.

There has been some discussion about our curmudgeon-ness carrying over to other threads, and I think our group think decision to avoid grinnies is at the core of our social problems. On this thread, it's understand that the grins are implied, but on other threads, we should make sure to use them since normal people need to understand that we are trying to be humorous, not destructive.

I like <gg>s and <lol>s and <roflmao>s since they openly signify humorous intent and pleasure. Don't feel you have to omit them just because some narrow minded jackasses around here have an aversion to them <gg>.
