I'm still trying to figure WSTL out.

Can someone tell me what IP of their own goes into the DSL modem? Do they use their own chips (if not, whose)?
Do they use their own software, or someone elses?

What do they bring to the table that makes their product something other than a commodity, as most modems have been in the past?
