MGJ: "[It] seems to me that he is comfortable with unemployment in the 4% range also contrary to most commentators."

Agreed. See my NAIRU post.

Re: " Seems to me Greenspan is comfortable with a GDP
growth rate of 4% to 4.5% up from the 3% to 3.5% GDP."

I don't think so.. Not much he can do with this year with huge GDP growth in the first quarter so looks like 4% to 4.5% is the best he can get for the year. I think his goal is 3% - 3.5% but knows he can't get it this year on average.

Re: "Is anyone here changing their forecast going forward? Or are we all waiting for that insipid inflation that has yet to appear and those monthly rate rises which were anticipated earlier in the year?"

I think Greenspan, overall, leaned toward your side yesterday as many expected more hawk talk. My observation is that most commentators are saying the Fed. is done and that a soft landing is coming. So it will be interesting to see how high they can push the market up (if at all) in the coming weeks with this economic backdrop if it holds.
