June Traffic Report Compares Internet Loyalty Services for First Time, Also Ranks MyPoints.com No. 3 Retail Site Overall
SAN FRANCISCO, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MyPoints.com (Nasdaq: MYPT), the Internet's leading loyalty marketer, today announced its ranking as the Web's No. 1 most popular incentive site and No. 3 most popular retail site overall, according to the latest report issued by audience measurement company Media Metrix.* In its June traffic report, Media Metrix ranked MyPoints.com ahead of all other incentive sites, including AOL AAdvantage and WebMiles.com. This is the first time Media Metrix has devoted a specific category to incentive sites.
In the retail category, which replaces Media Metrix's earlier ranking of shopping sites, MyPoints.com ranked third among general retail sites, behind only Amazon.com and AmericanGreetings.com.
"We believe that Media Metrix's new reporting categories accurately reflect the growing role played by loyalty programs in providing marketers with cost-effective channels for customer acquisition and long-term retention," said Steve Markowitz, chairman and CEO of MyPoints.com. "We are delighted to be recognized as both the Web's leading incentive site and a top three shopping destination, and we will continue to leverage the relationship we have with our eight million members to drive response on behalf of our clients, online and off."
