But certain features are generally true: play to the center of the board, develop your capital pieces rapidly, put your opponent on the defensive as soon as possible, and so on. Similarly, evolution favors rapidly succeeding generations. Your caveat about shortages is inapplicable in most instances, since the life cycle of rapid breeders is usually quite short.
So far, your point about extinction is your best. However, if there is both design and mechanistic evolution, if the basic species were designed, but the sub- species were evolved, the point would be moot. When we talk about the extinction of species, we are usually using a misnomer. It is like calling beagles a species. What we lose at a fairly rapid rate are breeds......... |
