the general design of nature The general design of DNA dates back about 4 billion years. There is some indication that RNA molecules supplied the reproduction strategy before that time but it's a tricky area to study and it will be many years to come before there is a clearer picture of what predated the first cells containing DNA. There is not much unexplained that calls for a designer. I wouldn't expect to find cases of mass extinction that did not have a fortuitous catastrophic event. If creatures just popped out of existance I would take that as evidence of outside influence. TP
