Iomega and NEC sign agreement
ROY, Utah, May 15 (UPI) - Iomega Corp. said Thursday that it has
signed a license agreement with NEC Corp. of Japan under which NEC is
granted non-exclusive worldwide rights to manufacture and market 100
megabyte Zip drives utilizing Iomega's Zip technology and trademarks.
NEC is a leading manufacturer of PCs, components and storage
products.
Under the terms of the license, NEC has the right to build Zip drives
for use in its own computers as well as for sale to other PC
manufacturers as OEM components or to consumers as aftermarket products.
NEC plans to begin manufacturing Zip drives during the third quarter
of this year.

IRVINE, Calif., May 15 (UPI) - Network Intensive said Thursday it has
selected Cascade Communication carrier-class switches to enhance its
network performance.
Reducing aggregation issues associated with multi-router usage, the
Cascade switches enable Network Intensive to continue to deploy quality
scalable business Internet and intranet access.
The use of Cascade switches ensures that Network Intensive can
provide its customers guaranteed one hundred percent redundancy for
robust uninterrupted Internet stream, the company said.

Arch goes interactive for kids
ST. LOUIS, May 15 (UPI) - Kids can use the Internet to take a free
virtual voyage to the top of the Gateway Arch, see what the Arch looks
like any time of day or night through a special 24-hour live video
camera, and listen to a RealAudio children's version of how the Arch was
built.

The Trip To The Arch is the latest in the ongoing series of Story
Creations, developed for the Internet by Sears Portrait Studio to
encourage parent-child reading interaction.
Story creations are illustrated stories designed to be customized

foods, and other personal details that can be changed as fast as a child
changes his or her mind.
Stories can be read from the screen or printed out in seconds after
entering specific information.

NAMPA, Idaho, May 15 (UPI) - Micron Electronics Inc. Thursday rolled
out its new Millennia Xru - an expansion to its Intel Pentium II
processor desktop product line.
The Millennia Xru is for the PC consumer power users who want
processing power combined with the multimedia enhancements of
technology.
The unit starts at $2,899.

Engage premieres The Bladelands
IRVINE, Calif., May 15 (UPI) - Engage Games Online has added
Interworld Productions' original game, Rolemaster: The Bladelands, to
its online multi-player game service.
Bladelands is a new role-playing title based on the highly successful
Rolemaster tabletop fantasy role-playing games created by Iron Crown
Enterprises of Charlottesville, Va.
The addition of the Bladelands marks the first time an interactive
property was created for publication as both an online game and a
tabletop game.
The Bladelands takes place on the devastated continent of Folenn,
which has suffered centuries of strife, conflict and destructive
Bladestorms.
During this time of troubles, the land was scarred and most people
were killed or driven insane. Through the dedicated work of the great
leader known as The Prophet, Folenn is rebuilt.
