The Power Of Three: Thinking Outside The Box...
Anyone can try this.
After repeated tries, failures and successes you will move away from the quid pro quo "box" of struggle and into the open, unlimited frontier of outwardly focused service, light and energy.
Nobody can create a blueprint for this for it's incredibly personal and each story involves three highly different inputs, ideas, references and energies.
Step ONE: MEET
Structure: The Peace Triad
Raise your first two fingers in the sign of peace.
- place yourself at the bottom (#1) - ie. the least important spot
- place someone, anyone you happen to run into (it only works if you are not trying to plan/search/find them) in place of your first index finger (position #2) - this is THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION. Discover what they do, what they are good at, what they know, their background, interests, skills, etc. Shut up and ask questions. Listen.
- work with that person to find a third party - the "third leg" - which the interests, skills, ideas, energies and talents of the second leg/position can accommodate, help and serve.
STEP 2: NETWORK
Working from position #1 - the least with humility, openness, energy, vision and courage - continue the process of making connections, establishing threads, thinking of the skills and positions of others in position #2 as well as others who could occupy position #3 to be helped and served.
STEP 3: EMPOWER
Try to share ideas, energy and vision with the person in position #2 in an attempt to empower him/her to humbly climb the tree you are in, sharing the unlimited potential, light, courage and hope that comes from being continually thrilled and motivated to want to find others in position #2 to help those in need in position #3.
The metaphor I've used is to imagine what it takes to humbly climb and tree and then imagine what it takes to empower another individual to climb the same or different tree to "see" what you are seeing as a first step to help that other party/person/leg, etc.
STEP 4: GROW
By humbly risking, sharing and serving from this outward focus you will naturally develop a simple stepped process of continual growth in learning, knowledge, awareness, energy and strength which you will be naturally motivated to want to help, share and serve up with more and more people.
More to the point, you will want to share this viral, happy energy you feel with others by way of simple example. But even as you share these ideas and energy you will be naturally targeted along the way as being judgmental or appearing to be "better than" others, etc.
This process of encountering friction is actually good for it's necessary. For the core fundamental energy and value of this "net energy" is to eliminate friction, barriers, misunderstanding, etc. How? By risking, sharing, communicating, acting, helping, serving.
You can have an unlimited number of lines and layers as you go through your walk through life working these four steps with an unlimited number of people. The idea is to embrace risk, connect to the energy and then immediately share it with others who can be helped and served.
For the fact is that the vast majority of people in the world won't step into the river and meet/network/empower and grow with others UNLESS they have some preconceived/planned/perfected structured process and procedure which exactly, perfectly and completely guarantees that IF they do 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. they will GET output w, x, y, & z.
Worse than that, is that most people - in addition to the guarantees embedded in the above - want to be sure that IF outputs w, x, y, & z are not realized they can blame someone, somewhere, sometime.
What essentially this amounts to is a failure to "see" and embrace the value of risk in the pursuit of serving others.
If all we are trying of achieve is MONEY, then the ideal would be to chew through as much trust, time, energy and ideas as is possible while reducing/mitigating your individual and collective risk should anything go wrong. But this requires that you corrupt the system - bending the higher values and principals of service behind the larger vision to flexibly and conditionally accommodate the right mix and match of structured inputs/outputs to optimize the return of money.
If you ask me, there are extreme holes, gaps and issues which are embedded inside these traditional "business" models. And if there aren't high examples of ethics, values and principals being shared from the top leadership there's just too many ways that individuals can cut ethical corners in an attempt to make money.
This short term - cut ethical corners to make money - thinking becomes the grounded/embedded long-term death rot of most organizations.
You will find that the communication structures of these organizations will become highly defensive, conditionalized as they become more paranoid, fearful and wary of what's "out there."
This Power of Three can work with any individual or organization. And it doesn't involve a judgmental position or point of view. For the only way anything can be validated is by the wonderful purity of an example or examples of two coming together to risk while helping and serving others - i.e., the third leg.
The personal power of judgment gets checkmated. And this is what's driving the possessive/controlling world crazy. For the whole idea of controlling/processing/structuing things gets checkmated by these simple, empowered acts of risk in the service of others.
Amazing how pure acts of risk, trust and selfless service can completely turn the way we perceive and interact with the world upside down.
Companies/communities that grow will be the one's that help and serve this process along better than other companies/communities with better tools, services and a huge dollup of empowered energy coming from individuals who extend and share their trust and energy with them in recognition of the unlimited value of this partnership.
Peace.
