A Fanciful Reflection on Time Travel: Suppose that I had a score of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony along with me on a trip to visit him, and left it. Suppose he took the manuscript and used it. Then he would never have written the 9th Symphony, so the manuscript could not exist. So he would have written it. But then the manuscript would exist for me to take back. But then he wouldn't have written it, and then the manuscript would not exist..........etc.

Either time travel is impossible, or we are severely circumscribed in our interaction with the past, or a paradox will rend the fabric of the universe......
